Standard Appointments

Appointments are 20 minutes in length. If you require additional time, please let reception know when booking. Same-day appointments are available for urgent medical concerns. Telehealth is available for eligible patients seen face-to-face in the past 12 months.

Multiple Appointments

Multiple appointments are needed if more than one family member wishes to see the doctor at the same time. Please ensure a separate appointment is made for each family member.

Cancellations

We appreciate your ability to let us know if you are unable to attend an appointment. A fee of $55 applies if you fail to attend your appointment.

Referrals & Prescriptions

An appointment needs to be made with your doctor for referrals or prescriptions. Please note that referrals cannot be back dated, as this is illegal.

Workers Compensation / Third Party

If your appointment is related to a workplace or third-party incident, please bring all necessary employer or insurance details. Without this, you may be responsible for covering the cost directly.

Weekend Appointments

Our Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) is open on the weekends from 9am – 5pm. The UCC is a free walk-in clinic and patients are seen according to urgency of the appointment. The UCC operates in line with our Medicare Urgent Care model, providing an alternative to emergency departments for non-life-threatening conditions through our growing network of Urgent Care Centres.

Home Visits

While home visits may be offered in certain circumstances, this will be at the discretion of your Doctor. Fees apply.

Contacting Your Doctor

As you are aware our Doctors have a very busy schedule. If you need to speak to your doctor, you will need to make an appointment. If the matter is urgent please let the reception staff know at the time of calling. Alternatively, you may speak with one of our practice nurses or email info@northwesthealth.com.au for electronic communication. One of our friendly staff will follow up your concerns.
