Dr Maher received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2007 from the University of the Philippines-Manila, the top ranking medical university in the Philippines. She then worked as a General Practitioner in Manila, Philippines for 3 years before moving to Australia.
She completed her Masters in Public Health- Health Promotion and Disease Prevention with the University of Queensland in 2011. Upon graduation she joined the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Queensland as part of the teaching and research staff, wherein she contributed to and published several studies on health behaviours and improvement of health outcomes.
Dr Genevieve has now moved to Tamworth and joined Northwest Health as a GP in 2019. While she enjoys all aspects of patient care, she has a special interest in health promotion, women's and children's health, occupational health and chronic disease management.
