Dr. Genevieve Maher

Dr Genevieve Maher has been a valued member of the Northwest Health team since 2019, delivering dedicated and compassionate care to patients in the Tamworth region. A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Dr Maher brings extensive experience to her role as a general practitioner.

She completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2007 at the University of the Philippines-Manila, where she began her medical career. After relocating to Australia in 2011, she earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Queensland and contributed to research within the Faculty of Medicine, with a focus on public health behaviours and their influence on health outcomes.

Dr Maher has a special interest in women’s and children’s health, mental health, chronic disease management, and preventative care. She is fluent in Filipino (Tagalog) and is passionate about delivering patient-centred, holistic care. Dr Maher currently consults at both East Tamworth Medical Centre (ETMC) and Calala clinics, proudly supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community.
